    Goldstar platey info please

hay lads, does anyone own a goldstar platey i would love to hear any feedback on these boats. I like the look of the 6000 whiteline, was wondering what the ride was like and any performance stats with your desired outboard. They look to be built solid, have good size fueltank, good fishing room ect. Ride quality is one of my only concerns as i am a bit of a glass fan. Any feed back would be apprettiated.

They might be the same as Razerlines. Search Razerline or Razorline on here and see what you find out.

    Buca

VMR here in Bunbury had a Goldstar being built as a second boat but had to cancel the order when the funding, which had been allocated by the previous govt, got canned. Luckily the builder could sell it to someone else.

A lot of thought went into the Goldstar.

For many other resons they had to settle with a Trailcraft which they took delivery of just prior to Trailctraft going belly up

I have an 8 metre Jackman hull, when I looked around back in 2003 there were many reputable plate ally builders building boats off the Jackman lofted plans. There were also many that appeared to have incorporated very minor changes and called the designs their own.

I see Goldstar has the integrity to honour the designer.

Our small but very experienced team have been building plate aluminium boats for over 20 years.
All our boats have been designed by the late award winning naval architect Dave Jackman.

Jackman designed hulls are renowned as one of the softest riding, quiet, roomy and stylish available.

I am getting a 6.8m Excalabur hard top centre cab built at the moment, twin 115 suzuki, twin 200 lt fuel tanks, 120lt fresh water.
Can post the construction photos during construction if you like.
I am a glass man but am sick of looking after glass and am after more of a fishing boat that I don't have to worry so much about the hull.
Getting it through Tim, Coastal Power boats, they have been very good, gave me all the info but nevver tried to push the sale, waited untill I had done my research and was happy. Had a long Discussion with Warren the owner of Goldstar. He is happy to discuss and explain how and whay his boats differ to others. Very happy so far with my dealings.

I looked at all the se qld plateys and costings and in my opinion on my research Goldstar was not the cheapest, but I believe they make a very good boat and the company when I researched was rock solid.

The fisher, razerline, trailcraft etc. etc scares all when you are outlaying 100k

    cheers

After a lot of looking around i was going to settle on the 6m barracutta but ended up going with a custumised 6m hydracraft built by GS Marine which is currently under construction. I don't think you could go to wrong woth the Goldstar.

Carefully check the width on Trailer, some of the WA built boats are very close to the 2.5m Maximum for Queensland. If it's 2.51m it's ilegial on the road so no insurance cover.

    Gday Buca T,
As rhyce said I have a 6m goldstar sailfisher - and love it. I've had it for 4 years i think.
They are a very well built and finished boat. The ride is very good. my last 2 boats were a 17 haines and a 19 haines. this platey has a good ride. probably not quite as good as the 19 haines but not far off it. you just have to drive it to the speed it wants to run in a bit of sea. typically that is about 20 - 22kts in a metre or so of slop.
where they really shine is in the room and the finish. with a 2.5m beam the cockpit is huge.
as someone else said in this thread, wal is a great bloke to deal with and is extremely knowledgeable, and bends over backwards to make you happy.
    highly recommended.
i have tons of goldstar photos from when i was researching boats if you pm me your email address i can send some to you.
