It's worth as much as someone is willing to pay.
I'll be willing to pay $2,000.05.
But someone else might think that's crap and offer more.
Have a gander on ebay and in the trading post and the local rags. They should give you a guesstimate.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good
Im with Finga on this one.
Its worth whatever somone is willing to pay.
Have a look on ebay and see what simalar motors are selling for, that might be a good starting point.
Also, might be worth asking your local boat and motor dealer, and see what they would say/charge.
Good luck selling it mate.

I was asking for advice not a lecture,Iwas asking what price i could put on the motor and then go from there.
Cheers Pat
Geez it sounds to me like you got some good advice. Standard Economics. No one here is going to tell you what to charge and then have you get p!ssed at them for getting it wrong, are they?
You have been given some good advice as to how to arrive at a fair price by yourself. So I reckon you should take some responsibility for it, and do what they've suggested!
Cheers,
Tim
Carbon Really Ain't Pollution.
Please ,Iam not being a smart ass ,I was just asking for a starting point.
That motor is worth 4500-5500 imop
Only a couple of 4 strokes on ebay. No help there. You should check with a dealer.
Use the 'phone.

Yep - about 5K. I got that a few years back for a trade on a DF140 and my 115 had about the same hours.

Values will also vary from location to location.
Take 2 motors exactly the same.
One will be worth...say $3000 in Brisbane but may well be worth $5000 in Lismore or Tamworth.
The price may well even vary across different parts of the Gold Coast.
That's why I said do local research.
If you want to sell it advertise it for what YOU want and if nobody rings then it's obviously too expensive.
You can come down until you get a biter.
That would be an indication of it's value.
But as I said...It's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay especially when you give us no indication of the condition
It may well have only 400hrs on it but has it been left in the sun and weather?
Has it been left in the water with barnacles and stuff all over it?
Has it have a service history?
Has it got all the gauges and do they work?
These are all just a few of the things people look at and we have not got a clue so I stand by what I said...I'll offer $2,000.05.
That was a few years ago so this motor has to be worth less (because it's now older) if they are in the same overall condition.
If you want people to give you an indication on what your motor is worth how about answering my question first.
What's my 1978 Kingswood Station Sedan worth?
Similar question and I'll probably get a similar answer.
Now that's a bit of a lecture.![]()
