    My son's first Longtail

After patiently teaching my son to fish over many years he rewards me by out fishing me at every opportunity and then brags by sending photos.

This Longtail Tuna went (about) 20 kg and I can assure you was very tasty both lightly seared and also sashmi style with a soy wasabi dipping sauce.

Apparently it put up a strong fight on (relatively) light gear, but I stopped listening after the 3rd or 4th telling of the story. Bast@#$%d

I was hoping you would put it up here. Nice fish for him.
Not bad for an area not really known for them as well. I am very jealous though. I will hopefully get one next year.

For the benefit of the local guys, he was with a mate in a little tinny on Monday when the ocean was dead flat. They were just off the back of flat rock and within landbased casting distance. He took a live slimey mac. They also picked up a few nice tailor and a small but legal Jewie (50 cm).
Weather and sea looks like its against us this weekend, but apparently the blackfish are good for those who chase them. We might try flicking some SPs in the river if the sea is too rough for the rocks.
Give us a shout if you hear of any action Scott.
    Cheers
    Steve
