    Green Island last night

I launched at Raby Bay about 4:30pm and went to a spot at Green Island.
I anchored and fiddled around with jigging a small plastic prawn to catch some yellowtail for bait, setting up rods with ganged hook rigs, cutting bait strips etc till after the sun set, then put out two floating baits.
It was a beautiful dark night with calm seas and the lights from shore, various navigation beacons and other boats adding colour to the scene. I really love fishing at night. It wasn't really that cold either. I was dressed in shorts, no shoes and just a jumper. The shelter from the half cabin keeps the cold wind off whenever the weather is inclined that way.
The tailer were there and I caught 6 within a fairly short time using the yellowtail fillets for bait. No monsters, just chopper size.
In fact I got caught a couple of times and lost fish because, on one occasion I was up in the cabin getting my thermos of tea and on a second occasion when I was attending to the call of nature.
How often does that happen? You go for a leak or try and pour yourself a cup of tea and the bloody fish decide to bite.
A bit later in the evening I caught two squire 38cm and 45cm. I also got a couple of undersize squire which were returned to the water, of course.
Things slowed down a bit so, at about 8pm, I left and came home, rather satisfied with my evening on the water and with the bonus fish in the esky.

sounds like an enjoyable trip. it was warmish out there last night for a bit and got colder the closer we got to home.you can guarantee something will hit your rod the minute you are otherwise occupied, good to see you put a feed together. .

Good night ges and still the tailor are there. I was surpossed to be there to but i am going through some repair of the tinny floor (cracked hull) so i was hoping they were still there and good sized squire to. I havn,t cracked the 40cm plus at all this year which is freaking me out but persistance will pay off soon. Cheers
