Nice pics,
Interesting that you saw the Marlin. I was just looking at the Sea Surface temp chart and I notice the water is still warm (24'c) offshore.
Might be still worth having a troll.
Was there much bait around?
Cheers,
Myles
Left scarborough late at 6.00am and headed for some ground between flinders and hutchies. We had myself, son zac and my mate gavin onboard.
Got to the grounds at about 7.45 and first baits down, nothing.
Moved around a bit and couldnt find the fish, found a few good shows but none that would play.
Zac ended up with a nice amberjack and we all caught a few undersize red throat, pearlies etc which were all released.
We were visited by some whales and at one stage there were three huge whales all out of the water at one time which was pretty cool to witness.
We also saw a free jumping marlin around lunchtime.
All in all it was a great day even if not many fish were caught.
Cheers Craig

Not really much bait noticed at all, there was a game boat trolling around early up untill about 10.00am then he left,we didnt see him stop or fighting any fish so I was guessing he lucked out.
Cheers Craig

Sounds like you had a pretty good day out on the water. The shot of the Whale is insane, awesome shot.
Thanks Tom
could still be worth a troll we had a bloody big wahoo come up behind the boat off point lookout on sunday morning at first i thought it was a dolphin untill it came in real close.
Awesome pics Craig.
We didn't have much luck either, but incidentally, we saw a free-jumping Marlin as well out towards the Barwons.
How's bubba?
Cheers

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)
I was surprised by the marlin,we are used to seeing whales but we dont see many free jumping marlin.
Noah is doing great thanks dennis, how is sonets little one?
Will have to get out together for a fish soon.
I have to admit zac took the picture of the whale,I agree its a great shot.
Cheers Craig

Still quite a few marlin out wide, so not surprising there are a couple in close. I know of three Blues in excess of 300kg tagged in the last week.
Great shot of the whale.
