I recognise the spot too, a mate and I used to use it as a backup for breaming on stinkbait if we weren't having any luck elsewhere. Never did try closer to the corner though, always up a bit further.

Good morning out nuggs, I think we may have to start booking that spot out in advance soon. Not sure about the colour of the plastic has too much affect on the luderick, my first big one hooked there was on a 5inch new penny shad and since then ive got 2 on bloodworm and/or gold plastics.

What's left to say, a great effort. I'll be up that way at Marcoola for the July school holidays so might see you round the traps. Normally I would only fish the beach, but your effort may have changed the plan.
Fantastic,

Re: i love maroochy
what a great mixed bag of quality fish. Luderick are always a target on smallish lures. They are omnivores, not vegetarians, as most pundits would have you believe. Which means that they will take both weed (green/brown strand and cabbage, as well as live bait - yabbies, shrimp, small live prawns) which means they are a genuine prospect on lures. They fight like the clappers on light line, and when prepared properly are excellent on the chew.
Well done Nuggs.
