    Old Woman Island Grassies

    heyy guys
well the day started with a quick trip to swannies around 6.45 to get some bait on the way home quick check of the maroochy bar was a nice gutter with no waves so decided to go the bar . chucked the boards in just in case there was a little wave, launched the boat quick fly out the bar and over to the island it was a little bumpy but the wind dropped around 7 .45 on the 5th drift dad hooked a nice grassies

The fish died off for a little while so we jumped over for a surf greeted with a couple of little sliders about an hhour an a half later , we were back to fishing dad got another little grassie and then i got this little fishh
    could anyone identify it

    Cheers Dan

Make that black-tipped rock cod Epinephelus fasciatus.
It's found along the entire Queensland coastline according to Grant. Here's a link from a WA site with a picture.
