    Team Pilchard's Trip

Team Pilchards report from the Boyne Tannum Hookup...the team left the Auckland Creek ramp at 4am on the saturday for the trip out to Wistari....with the hope of picking up a few prize winning fish.
Captain Mack (Dave...Benno1)...Manta Ray (Ray)...Beachy (Rod) and G-Man (Gerard) and Delani headed out in near perfect conditions...we ended up with a nice mixed bag but it took allot of hard work. There were allot of spaniards around but hookups were not sucessfull on live or floating dead baits. All in all the team had a great day but unfortunatelly there was no record breaking fish...but the 15 kilo cobe was the pick of the bunch...he fell to a floated bonito.
The picture of the red is from a previous trip the boys took out of 1770.
More pics of that are for another post
    Enjoy.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)

    Some nice fish there Sunny,

The boys & Delani did allright. Shame Dave didn't get out over the weekend, the weather was great on Sunday.

I took Jacque out for a couple of hours to the Shoals, we only ended up with one nice Trout, but it was worth it just being out on the water.

Hope you guys are feeling better, you've still got to get out & get that RED before you leave.

    Cheers Gazza

    good one Mrs B
Those Cobes really know how to test the knots.
Did the guys find that come late saturday arvo the whole place shut down.
seems to be a few trout around everywhere at present.
You going to have to loosen the purse strings and let your old man buy a bigger boat so you can get more trips in with the crew

I wish i could claim that cobe Mick but it was a mates fish (Beachy)...and yeah now you mention it they said it sorta shut down...no real quality fish coming over the side at all on Saturday arvo...but i think by that time theyd caught the majority of the mixed bag you see in the pics and were ready to come on in.
Heh heh i nearly had Dave onto a 8 meter platey last year...i did all the research presented the package but it was a no goer...(they wanted an arm and a leg AND first born child!!!) ...one day Mick...ill just keep dropping hints i suppose ...i would have gone on this trip but the kids and i were all sick with a bug...spewing...literally

Thanks Daz...i did cook that one up and a 4 kilo coral trout...we had an 8th birthday party for our daughter in May...i just juiced a lemon and a lime...fresh birds eye chilli...garlic and ginger...some honey mixed and poured over the scored flesh...(i like to put 2 dobs of butter and half a lemon cut up into the gut cavity to add to the sauce) took 1hr half to cook both fish on 170...went down a treat with everyone
