A good catch off the Goldy

The last two trips out side have boated two very nice fish. Last Monday I took the family outside for a quick fish and ..... I landed a nice 6.5kg Flowery Cod, and 6 Trag Jew... We kept the Cod and released all the Trag jew...

Today, Mick boated a 9kg model Snapper, caught on a Jerk Shad.. 10 min fight with some big runs.. We though for a while we were going to get bricked, as he made it back to the bottom 3 times... We also boated a few Squire, which were all throwen back to fight another day...

Yes it was a welcome change to have smooth conditions.. Been so use to massive sea's, 25kn winds and thunder storms, I had to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming...

Probably doesn't mean too much but your probably better off keeping the Trag. The mortality rate is as high at 70-80% with those suckers even if they swim away. That's part of the reason they brought the size limit down so far a few years back.

Yeah the boys were stoked, but the littlest (Hugh) was a bit scared the Cod was going to bit him....

nice one jabba one day iam down that way i will chase you up as i have never caught a snapper. next flat weather i am heading to the shelf just maybe in that deeper cold water i might find one though the most northern i have heard is mackay

Please do, but don't expect to catch as much fish down here as you do up your way....
Summer trolling is good too.... We were busted off so many times this year, it was just embarrassing... On one particular day we were busted off 4 times, 2 off which the Wahoo bit straight through the wire.....
