I've been fishing at this spot in the middle reaches that has become quite popular and a big group or family come down every weekend and every fish they catch goes straight into the bucket, I mean baby bream, baby jew, catfish, eels, etc. I tell them that they are undersize but they just laugh at me, how would I go about getting fisheries down there so they can realize what they are doing- as Im sure that one day there will be no more fish left there. I just think if they were caught then they would become aware of what they are doing. What does everyone think?

take the bucket and throw the fish back in the water, if they ask why? Tell them how would they feel if there children were taken under age? hahaha seriously though if they aren't going to listen to you then they might understand a fine from DPI.
But while you're waiting to see what happens, just don't hold your breath!!!
Luc
mate throw the book atm
Take some pictures and also record all the details
Also if possible get their rego number of the vehicle they came in
Then give it all to Fisheries and tell them if nothing happens you will also send the information to A Current Affair etc.
Harry
I love the sound of reels screaming in the morning
Harry is spot on. Photos, car rego, number of people, ages etc etc and report to Fisheries.
And it would be interesting what Current Affair etc might make of it in light of the recent rezoning on Moreton Bay which was apparently designed to protect fisheries. If they can't enforce bag and size limits, then what point the green zones?
Jeremy
do they have a daughter under 16? would be rather poetic
There are usually some kids with them.
I agree, photos of people, car/s and most important catch. Send all to local MP and ask for an answer. Don't be fobbed off, stand on your rights as a taxpayer. After all MP's are public servants and you are the public!
Had the same problem few years ago at Fishermans Is. the chap who was keeping very small bream, did not want to know as i was trying to explain the size and says "i dont speak english mate"i said fine i'll show you and promtly threw all the fish back, he was not happy, packed up and left. Probably back agin the next day, but i took his details and passed them to the relevant authorities.
Cheers
Hey Dunc, as pinhead says , where exactly is this taking place and at what time, all we need is to film the whole scenario then we have something to fight with !!!
