Not sure a good looking crew will result in fish but i got some nice summer whiting on the bait jig in the northern bay a week ago, one got turned into a good snapper! this was around the M9 beacon in deeper than normal water for whiting.

Where have they gone?![]()
I did some serious miles today from Raby Bay to the Boat Passage near the Chain Banks, the Rous Channel, western edges of the Naval Reserve Banks, round Peel Island, Cleveland Point and all spots in between - for not a single bight!![]()
I mean nothing!![]()
True, a 15/20 knot westerley was blowing (and freezing cold) and when conbined with a run out tide, the conditions were not all that great but to not even get a bite of one miserable whiting..................?![]()
Top blood worms, brilliant and good looking crew but all to no avail.![]()
Came home quite depressed!![]()
Anybody found out where they have gone?

We did very well at the south eastern end of the Pelican Banks on Saturday (39 whiting).
Try southern bay 2-3mtrs of water.
Cheers

Matty,The more rum cans you have the better the crew look
when all else fails the compass adjustment buoy would be worth a shot.

I was told this week, whiting between scarb and cockle banks
