I am having trouble with getting clear showings in the deep, about 80m plus range, and am not sure how i should properly set up sounder, I was wondering if someone could explain to me what setting the TVG (time varied gain) should be set at, or even more, explain what it means, in basic english terms. Also the gain adjustment settings in the menu, what do they do, do they affect the gain, how, and what should be the settings.
I seem to be getting good btm showings and good fish showings in shallows, about 50m, but once I go beyond that I seem to maintain a good btm reading but cant seem to gat fish showings, I wanna start going further wider and want to optimise my sounder to read better in deeper water, all comments would be appreciated. The more info on this sounder, tunning, setting up would be also appreciated.
do a search,585 settings, in electronics i think that the 585,620 are much in the same,also try a search 620 settings if you dont get it in 585,some of the boys show you how to set them up. robo
