    Thumbs up Whiting Fire Up

We went out to south eastern Pelican Banks on Saturday chasing whiting and some sandies. Absolutely flat as, warm sunny weather and a heap of quality whiting to boot. Went out around 10.00 and bank at 3.30 but still managed 39 good quality fish around the 23-27cm mark between us. Could not get the bait in the water quick enough, worms and squid. Judging by the other 20-30 boats there, every-one was on to them.
Also pulled aboard a 90cm Wobbygong who got himself tangled in the crab dilly net. After he regurgitated everything he had eaten in the last 24 hours all over the carpeted floor of the boat, we finally cut him out of the net and released him. Scrubbed the floor but still can't get the stink out of it! No crabs though. I think they are moving north on their migration and in deeper water.
Early forecasts for next Sunday look promising, so may head out there again.
