    Bait pump & Washdown pump

Hi Guy's.....I have a tsunami 800gph through hull bait tank pump and was wondering if I put a Y connector in the hose could I draw water for my washdown pump through it as well or do I need a dual port pump

    Phil,
I set up a small el cheapo bilge pump on the stern, and it does the job well enough, so I see no reason why your idea would not work. Not a great deal of pressure, but it does the bait board and the pods.

    Phill,

you need to put a tee peice in before the bait pump so both pumps suck from the ocean and not throught one another.

You could even use two pressure switches and a couple of solenoids to make it all automatic. But that'll be just more stuff to play up

I use a similar set up and all is fine as long as you dont use both at the same time and shut off one valve at the Y connector.
Also my bait pump is a standard vertical rule pump on the transom with a pick up that allows me
to use either pump whilst underway.

I just put in a Johnson pump and had something similar to you with a bait tank but because i didn't think it would keep up and i'd have to switch it on to keep johnsons pump to be able to get water i removed the aerator pump and put another connector inlet to it and done away with the bait tank............ If i need it i'll just fill it via the Johnson pump. They build up pressure then stay pressurised when ya need it goes well.

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

I Got A 500 Rhule On Transom To Run Bait Tank.
Just Before Line Enters Bait Tank, I Put In A T Piece With A Tap.
I Then Run A Piece Of Garden Hose About 2 Met Long With A Click On Spray Attachment.
When I Use Tank Tap Is Off. When I Want To Use Hose I Turn Tap And Allows Water To Flow.
Not A Lot Of Pressure But Enough To Wash Bait Board And Hose Down Gunnels, Fill Bucket Etc.

    Cheers
