Anyone own a HDS 8 chartplotter/ sounder?

Hey all, been looking a new sounder/chartplotter for the new boat i have ordered. has anyone used/owned the HDS 8, it looks a little easier to use than the HDS 7, and its a big jump in screen size, compaired to the HDS 7. any opinions would be between the both would be good.

on another note it appears the V tec honda 90hp doesn't have NMEA 2000, which is strange for a so called "top" outboard maker.

well i went in to see the HDS 8 and HDS 7 side by side today, huge differance. the screen size on the 8 is way more than an inch bigger, 213mm compared to the HDS 7 at 163mm. thats would make it 2 inches bigger than the HDS.

both really easy to use, but the 8 is even easier/faster with the bottom keys. still a $1k extra over the 7 is a lot of money.

but that bigger screen sure is nice
