Hi all
Could anyone please advise me what would be the best bang for buck rod and reel for floating in the bay/offshore area and a SP rig for snapper and the like.?
I was looking at the Livefibre M10 matched with a penn 3/0 though i think the Penn has a different model number now , not to sure on that. Any other suggestions?
And with the SP rig i have no idea
Cheers

Pop-Eye,
Check out the Berkley Diablo rods, there is a 6'9" 4-8kg rod that is a ball tearer. Nice fast taper and heaps more grunt than what it is rated at.
There is a 7' 6-10kg model, but I prefer the action of the 6'9" 4-8! Match it up with a ABU Soron STX40 and spool it up with 20lb fireline and that is an awesome outfit, for well under $400.
Cheers,
Matt
Mate get into the classifieds on here.
There is a Diawa Saltwater series rod for $200.
Diawa advantage 4000 for $250.
Would be a great outfit and with a bit of bargaining you could get it cheaper!
Cheers and thanks.

Thanks guys as that has well and truly pointed me in the right direction as far as Spinning Rigs goes. Its taken me days to get my head around all the choices in SP spinning gear then finding what i feel is the best value for money items. Generally i was amazed on how thin the Graphite rods are now these days and are obviously very deceiving.
Firstly to you Matt. I did have a look at the Diablo and they felt very nice and i can see what you mean with the action of the 4-8kg compared to the 6-10kg. Price $175
As far as abu Garcia's are concerned i have lived by baitcasters fitted with ambassadors all my live and sweasr by them. i have never had any experience with their spinning reels though. Any feedback?
Lostnearbribie i still have a Diawa Rod Harrison Serries BC that would be at least 15 years old and still going strong so good suggestion IMO. I looked into the Diawa saltwater series TD-SW701HFS rod you pointed out and they are online for $239 and the blank is High modulus graphite ( ½–1 ounce/ 12–20LB).
Whilst i was looking at the Diablo i came across another rod series from Diawa, the Exceler which has a equivelant 7ft 4-8 KG Rod . It has a slighty lighter action, (please tell me if i am wrong), due to the IM7 carbon blank(⅜–5/8 10–17lb).
There is a 6’0” model that i didnt see, rated at ½–1 12–20lb but i magine it being a bit to stiff compared to the 7' Saltwater Series
Going by the Diawa website I am led to belive the guides arent as fancy on the Exceler,( O ring guides), oppose to the saltwater series with the " Fuji CYSG and CLSG new concept chrome silicone carbide guides". Bottom line does that really matter. Cost for Exceler in the shop $120 / $99 Online. Seems like good value for money.
Thanks again
