    Re: line left overnight??

    nope

I play with set lines all the time where I work (overseas, north of the equator). The fish will usually get off before you get the chance to land it. Sometimes we get lucky, but I think they wear a big hole in their mouth and the hook comes out eventually

    cheers

Yeah set lines are illegal if you are not inside 25Metre's of the line and you must be checking every 20Minutes or so. I read this in a booklet and from memory these are the rules but I may be wrong about the time checking it.

    Thanks Tom

It worked for me once, but we only left it an hour or so because we walked up the stairs from the pontoon and forgot about it (beer etc). I don;t think you could expect anything the next morning though

edit: only thing you'll catch is debris :p

so the long liners in open water don't work???

I'll speak only for myself, though I'm sure many others have done the same, where I've set a line or three for the night and awaken to good catches.

    Be real.

Wow really? Locations, setup and quarry please :-)

I've tried in Hawkesbury with prawns and plastics. The plastics just get picked apart, so I am assuming the same happens with the prawn.
