Google Earth KML files?
Is it possible to post google earth KML files on the site, if so does anyone know how? If not could it be considered for inclusion if possible Steve??.
I have sent them via email and have a few saved on HDD that I use personally although I have yet to work out how to include on the forum.
Would be a great to post the file as an attachment, click on it to automatically zoom in via google earth to the exact spot being discussed or asked about.
cheers fnq

Re: Google Earth KML files?
There is a way of putting the google maps in your post, see below, but it is not working at the moment. Will have a look at it and also investigate teh KML file
First of all just post your GPS point as text
Example -
Mud Island - Snapper, Bream, etc, - 27.20.476 153.16.213
Then enter the point as a google map. You need to convert the GPS Coordinates to Decimal degrees. Go here to convert your data - http://www.ausfish.com.au/gpsconvert.shtml
27.20.476 S 153.16.213 E
Would become, -27.34126,153.27021 (5 decimal places is fine)
Then enter it as shown here, just take out the spaces in this example.
[ map=Mud Island Snapper ]-27.34126,153.27021[ /map ]
And it will be shown as
Click on Satellite or Hybrid for a better view
[map=Mud Island Snapper]-27.34126,153.27021[/map]
.
