I was just wondering if anyone has tried any of the larger "Blades" out in the salt water, the smaller ones look amazing for bream, but I want to try them out on some Bay Snapper.
I purchased two 1 Gram models to try out instead of my favourite 5" soft plastics..... Just needed to upgrade the flimsy snapclip on the front incase a decent red takes a liking to it
Heading out Monday morning to fish overnight into Tuesday starting at Mud, Four Beacons, Tangalooma, Curtain and Cowan......... then all the way back.
Hey BB
Blades r my goto lure, I haven't had heaps of succes in the bay with them compared to the rivers but my biggest snap on lure was 59cm caught on a 1/8 switchblade so if u upsize a bit and put some work in, im sure u will clean up on them.
Man... talk about wet..... still managed to have a great trip.
Fished the 4 beacons with out luck on the blades, but managed 2 undersized spotties, and a bonito on 65g metal slug.
Fished curtain with bait and picked up two legal squire and a sweetlip, plus many throw backs.
Then back to Tangalooma wrecks for the evening. Out came the blades in hope for a trev or two...... picked up a nice squire that gave a good acount for himself.
Also caught a nice bream and flattie there on bait.
Wind and rain hampered the rest of the night and fishing to a back seat to a few bourbons. (My mate skippered...Thanks Les)
All in all had a great time and the blades will definitely get another chance on the end of the line.
