    What Knot is this?

I found this one the other day and it is apparently a Double Clinch.

    http://www.steelheader.net/knots/double_clinch.htm

I can't seem to find out what other names it goes by.
    It looks super easy.
    Is it any good?

Just looking around for something new to tie rigs in 40 to 100lb for bottombashing / livebaiting.

    cheers

Looks the same as a (unlocked) half-blood knot but it uses a doubled over main line

Haven't used it for ages but i seem to remember the locked half-blood knot was fine. I tend to use a uni knot on just about every terminal connection (ie. to swivel or hook, etc). easy to tie and one of the best knot strengths

Yes i can see it now.
It is just the doubled mainline that makes it look different.

I wonder if it would have the same slippage issues as the unlocked half blood?
Gee thats a question you don't want to say "yes " with a good fish on.

I'll stick to the uni i think.

    cheers

Blood Knot can slip, locked seems to help considerably, but indeed, the Uni knot for almost everything for me, easy to tie, strong as anything going around, so I will not be changing anytime soon.
