Hoping someone can give me some expert advice here.
I am going to have a go at doing my own trailer bearings and wanted to know the best place to position the jack when jacking up a dual axle trailer carrying close to 2 tonne of boat? I have been told a couple of conflicting stories and would like some expert advice.
just started doing mine, this will lift both wheels off the ground, just do one at a time, i let the jack down a little to put a bit of weight on the wheel thats still on, for a tad of safty
Hey Wahoo,
Thanks for the picture. My jack says it can handle 1800kg's and my total load is approx 2500kg's. If I am only jacking one side would you say that's within the Jacks limits?
Goldfinch,
You can jack one axle at a time if you want ( preferably under the spring plate ) but doing it as per Wahoo's photo makes life easier. I prefer to also put an axle stand under each axle, just in from the wheels you are removing........safety first !
Taz.
