How would it be if someone claimed to have caught a 120cm or even a 100cm barra and it was actually 80cm? As soon as they were found out they would be ridiculed and lose face.

If you are going to claim a fish is '10kg' then it bloody well should be 10kg on accurate scales. Otherwise you should say 'think it might be around 10kg but my scales are a bit dodgy, or if it is an estimate, just say so.

    Getting off soap box now

    Jeremy is right.
If you are going to say something is 10kg then you should be able to back it up.

Even when you correct or question someone on this site these days everyone just jumps down your throat.....Saying 'oh cmon leave the bloke alone....you are only going to discourage him from doing reports'......

Seems the only reply you are allowed to make these days is ..... 'Oh yeah...top fish mate'...... ......

Its MOST DEFINETLY NOT bagging or putting someone down when you simply 'question' the accuracy of a weight or report.
So many people are WAY of when it comes to weights of fish etc....

I still want to know why he is being berated on the size of a snapper in a thread he started trying to identify a fish? FFS, many of the posters wanting to know about this snapper are very insistant on keeping on topic in other threads, so why the change of heart now? I don't care how big his snapper is/was, otherwise I would be reading a thread on snapper, this is about identifying an unkown fish, so keep it on topic or don't say anything. You people will be losing more face by insisting on this than he will regardless of what the friggin snapper weighs, measures, eats, shits or anything else you can think of. PM's are there for a reason, friggin use them, I and many others don't want to keep trawling through this bullshit just to find out what the identity of the ON TOPIC fish is.

Justjack, have you had any luck making an ID yet?

Fair enough Jeremy, i agree with what you say. I just feel there is no need to chase him around on other threads though, thats the pathetic part. Have a shot in the original thread and leave it at that. It just detracts from the site to go through this over again. I think that one in his avatar is a bit bigger than 10kg though so he has caught one.
