Might be pathetic to you mate, but some of us take fish sizes seriously. There is alot of prestige and bragging rights in capturing PBs, beating the metre mark, catching fish of certain weights etc. Even claiming records. I am not exagerating to say it is insulting to some people to take these things lightly.
How would it be if someone claimed to have caught a 120cm or even a 100cm barra and it was actually 80cm? As soon as they were found out they would be ridiculed and lose face.
If you are going to claim a fish is '10kg' then it bloody well should be 10kg on accurate scales. Otherwise you should say 'think it might be around 10kg but my scales are a bit dodgy, or if it is an estimate, just say so.
