Same here in hervey bay.... SW/S winds 5/10 knots, increasing to 10/15 knots at night. Local afternoon NE seabreezes 10/15 knots. Seas to 1.2 metres.

Its blowing its nuts off at Ballina atm. Dont think there will be much sand left on the beaches after this one. They are already stripped from the last low. Huge swell.

    Re: Who's heading out?

If you go guys, good luck with the fishing. Have fun and be safe!!!

Just be mindful of the flotsam that will inevitably be about. I have heard the citycats won't be running from this evening, at least until the river clears. The rubbish floating out of the river will eventually be out there in the bay somewhere. Keep your eyes peeled......

    Happy fishing

    Re: Who's heading out?

The weather gods must have made a mistake Matt. It normally only blows like that when I'm down there. Just had a look at the NSW observations for Yamba for today - blowing 35 knots gusting to 48 and 36mm of rain so far today. From the look of the radar it's going to bucket down tonight.
Interestingly though, when I was down there in late March - early April it blew like that and I got some monster bream fishing the wall in horrendous conditions. Makes we want to head down tonight! Maybe in a week or two.

Ah, god help anyone who gets between me and the breakwalls as soon as this flooding subsides! Watch out jew!
Its supposed to peak locally for me at 6pm tomorrow afternoon but flooding will occur tonight and we're already blocked off.
Had to put the tinny in to get to the main road to get to the fire station. Another 12 hour night shift tonight. Oh boy oh boy.
ah, well as i type i just got a phone call, turns out that 12 hours is about to start in 15 minutes. yippee..... Can't ya just tell i'm excited?

    Hey Matty,

Doesn't sound too good at all mate. Localised flooding by the sound of it.

I guess all you guys can do is to sit tight and ride it out. Easy for me to say of course, being up here and things as quiet as a mouse having a leak on a bit of cotton wool. No wind. no nothing. Scary really. Looks like it's coming back though, the rain that is.

    Hang in there,

    TOL
