I have a 4500 baitrunner which I intend to use fishing floaters for snapper and maybe some offshore SP work.
what are your thoughts on line?
mono or sinking braid?

You really need a spare spool... not cheap,I got one for a 6500 for $60 (I think).
I would use 20lb braid mainline with 20lb, 30lb or 40lb mono fluorocarbon leader tied directly to the braid depending on where and what you are fishing for.
I don't like braid for floaters to many tangles and no strech when a fish pics it up and runs. I think that the sensitivity of braid that makes it good for plastic work is its down fall when presenting a floating bait.
I agree with Diabolical two spools one with braid for plastics 20lb should be heaps and flurocarbon leader. then a mono 20lb for floaters
20lb seems like a lot until you have an 8kg red rampaging for the reef.. i run 30lb on my 4500 no problems.
As Coucho said 2 spools. Definately no more than 10kg mono for snapper floating and make sure it's mono , braid really is a pain in the arse floating, when the fish are fickle you'll much better with mono, remember with braid you feel the bites easier which means the fish feels you! Plastics is another matter and on a 4500 i would use no more than 20-30lb braid and it has to be braid! i like sunline!

Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!
Go the braid less weight required so you get a better presentation, but people say only use mono but i disagree with mono i think the fish feels it more than braid because mono weighs more when a line load is out thus letting the fish feel more weight and drop the bait but either is good but i sway for braid gets to the strike zone quicker and is better in deeper water and plastics are glorified floaters anyway so if you use braid for one why not the other.
