1974 Holden Monaro GTS 4 door 308(my brother's) $4500.00. 1974 Penn International 130 $1200 (my father's). 2009 SS Commodore $50000+ that reel $10000. Not sure what is "out there" about the comparison. My 180B Datsun GL was $4443 on August 28th 1975, but I paid an extra $103 for radial tyres, and the sales tax went up 5% on September 1st.
Was that the UK mob famous for their fly reels?
$13,000, now that must have been some reel. Any specs or pics of her?
Ah google, my friend, some great info on the hand-made British reels at the links below for anyone interested.

At the same time Fin Nor 12/0 tri gear reels were listed for $3,310.00 & Penn International 130ST 2 speed @ $1760.00. Neither of these two reels had the line capacity of the Hardys.
