I like it but I don't like the price. It's a great reel non the less by the looks of it. Has anybody on Ausfish used one before?
Tom
Its good technology... and a nice look... BUT, it is alittle expencive... WAIT. It isnt worth the money, not in my eyes.
I will look into it and see what its really worth.

Oddly enough they claim thier drag system is a new system, unfortunately it is not, been around for at least 30 years in geared drive systems from some manufacturers. They have simply adapted this technology to a fishing reel.
I suppose if you make something and can claim its of the highest quality you can set your own price as someone somewhere will want the "best".
Probably are good reels but not for my liking.
Jack.
The strike stopper and name plate is all I can afford
Tight lines <*)(((((((((><
And let's not forget that that seems to be USD
Back in the early 1970's we were paying about $4500 for a new Holden Monaro and about $1000 for a Penn International 130. 35 years later a new SS is around $50,000, so $10,000 for a reel is comparible. Still bloody expensive though, but when you can spend a few million on a boat, what's 10 grand for a reel?
Good point aussiebasser.
They would certainly add a bit of individuality to a rich persons' toy, or a high end charter boat. I'd imagine the 'strong fighter' would go well on a broadbill sortie.....
Cheers!
Very nice indeed.
I dont think they were trying to sell the drag concept as new, just new to fishing reels.
I like em, but sadly couldn't afford one. I hope lotto can help with that one day

Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!
Yeah they are beautiful, typically stylish Italian quality, I think Shakespeare was putting these out in Aus back in the mid '90's or so under another name that I can't recall....certainly wasn't Tidewater tho'.
Cheers.
Yeh shakespear is the importer but they rebadge them and they look UGLY!!!!!!! I've got 5 albacores 20's and the drag is just silky smooth and the build quality leaves tiagra's wanting! Mine came direct from italy!
