    Trevally?

    Greetings all!

My mate who went fishing off Lennox Point off the weekend. Caught a Trevally that had long trailing dorsal and pectoral/anal fins. Diamond'ish shaped? Silveri'sh?

    Any ideas?

    About 30cm long.

    No pics.

    Regards, Rob.

    Ballina.

    Re: Trevally?

People on here often refer to Diamonds as being ugly....

I reckon they are one of the more beautifull fish around......Pinks,Blues,greens,silver.....amazing colours in them.

If you catch them on the right angle they shimmer like an oyster's shell, one of the most beautiful fish in the water.

Nah mate, that's not a Diamond, it's a Pennant- fish.

Pretty similar in appearance though the pennant-fish has a lot more rounded head, has more anal fin filaments and only grows to about 30 - 40 cm.

    Still a nice fish hey?

    Good capture.
