    Southern Bay Yesterday

Crikey, what happened in the southern Bay yesterday (between coochie and straddie?) Not a bloody fish to speak of! It was like a big great white was hunting around scaring them all off. Started by heading out near straddie to my shark spot... Not a touch... Pulled in a whoppa sea toad though... must have been a good 5kg... Nothing else then moved south... No bites or anything... Then over to Potts point where u often get a lot of bites resulting in undersized squire... NOTHING! Not even bites! Then west side of macleay... lots of whiting bites I think but the buggers wouldn't hook up... Moved back over to just each of coochie and we got two fish almost instantly... a squire and a tailor but both small... then afater that, again... NOTHING. No bites, nibbles or anything. Pulled in one flounder/soul, but that was it.

Very weird with almost total absence of any fish big or small... Only toads about...

Apparently most other boaties in the vicinity had same reports.

Same results at Redcliffe yesterday, Saturday produced meagre results, Sunday was incredibly uneventful.
Friday night however turned on the goods for one pair of boats overnighting around the Margate / Redcliffe reefs.....
