Re: Soft plastics for Barra
All the popular models including 110, 130mm slick rigs work well, storm 4, 5 & 6" wild eye swim shads along with the now popular Berkley hollow bellies in the 4, 5 & 6" lengths. Dont forget surface lures in the right conditions including the infamous frogs/toads. Regulate the depths and try a basic slow roll to start and move to more advanced techniques from there. As for frogs get them on the top walking along at a moderate to fast pace

Re: Soft plastics for Barra
Brian I have had most luck with slick rigs, pro range is optional. The regular ones seem to work ok for me - maybe a little heavy.
The real trick is to have a high cast ratio - more casts more chances.

Re: Soft plastics for Barra
Hi Brian the Boyne Dale camp is a great spot for some relaxed camping and fishing away from the crowds. I have a mate that just camped there in the last week and he loved it.
With the Hollow Bellies you can choose different weight Nitro Jig heads to suit the depth in the water column you want to work. The hooks are also way stronger than the Squidgy hooks.
For deeper work you can grab some of the Mullets which have a nice action.
Those Storms also have a nice action to them.
Bozos also have some nice plastics that are not heavily promoted so check them out and make up your own mind on what you think would be good to throw at a Barra or 2.
It's a great part of the world up that way mate enjoy and have fun.
Cheers Lyndon.
