    First Reef Jack

Headed out Wednesday with a Newby Pom from work. Found some nice livies in the bay then made our way out around the Cape. Had a look around and not much to see. Steve on "blue" let us know he was getting a few good fish at Deep Tempest so did a quick run out in that direction. On the way checked on of my old marks and "hello" it was looking good. Grabbed 6 Pearlies before the falling sun meant we had to get into the shallows.

Arrived just before dark. Berley started, floaters down and..............smash, hold on...bricked. The second one wasn't so lucky. My first Jack . Stocked.

Cut a long story short--- 7 squire, couple of 3kg sweeties, moses before it shut down and Sharks were the only tackle takers. The morning sesh was all but non existent so back to the deep (103 meters). Polished of the rest of the pearlie bag so headed to Hutchies for a non productive Troll.

Ate some great Prawns, had some beers and laughs with a mate, so all good.

Forgot to mention..... Karl's best fish to date was a small schoolie. He was exstatic when he caught his mack tuna and was truly excited playing sharks to the boat. Great to see. He also caught more than his share of the Pearlies. He also reckons he will be getting a glass boat instead of plate

    Cheers
    Scott

(photos wont upload???) will try later. Tired and hungry

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
