Talking How to catch a Jack

    Hi Guys,

I'm heading to south pine bridge in brisbane and was wondering what the best rigging was to finally allow me to catch the mighty Jack? They have been avoiding me for quite some time now!

    cheers

Hate to be all doom and gloom, but you are really at the back end of the season for Jacks now (SE Qld anyway) - and with this cold weather they will be even more elusive.

With that in mind I would be concentrating on some sort of live bait rig, as opposed to lures. I don't have a description of one on me at the moment, but search this site (or the web) for jack live bait rigs and you should find something to suit your needs?

if you know a spot where they have been getting them this season then punish the
spot now cause in autumn they are far and few....but when you nail one they are usually solid ones i got one on a hard body down the coast about 3 weeks ago but the water might be a bit cold now........
