Ahhh! Broke bracket on 20hp 1996 Mariner. Help needed

Went out this morning without my leg support bracket on as only traveling a short distance and paid the ultimate price I'm afraid. The right hand side U bracket that goes over the stern broke in two. A lesson learned obviously. My question is can these be welded or can u just buy one of the sides of the bracket? Wasn't sure if it's all one bit or not. Many thanks, Craig

Would appreciate it mate. I think they're all the same from around 95-2000. I just took it to the mechanic and apparently not too much drama to fix, hardest thing finding the part! I'm in Cleveland Brisbane by the way.

Most wreckers will have them.. easy to change..IMO possibly too much pressure on the clamp wouldn't have helped that.. I would bolt it on.

Looks like that rusty through bolt is the cause of it.
It looks like the bolt swelled up with rust and popped the alloy out.

Weld mesh to close to the edge of a concrete slab will do the exact thing and break of chunks of concrete.

Seems like a dumb place to have a bolt, a fracture just waiting to happen! even if it is S/S it will still rust like that due to the lack of oxygen there.
