    PM character limit

Steve, No big deal really but could the character limit in PMs be increased? the total length ATM makes it real hard to carry on a competent argu..um......discussion after a bit of too and fro-ing

    Re: PM character limit

It is currently set to 50,000. There is no separate setting fro PM's, it uses the message/post limit. Prefer not to increase it at this stage

    Re: PM character limit

Ok thanks but now I am confused, so what is this 1500 character limit I keep coming against within PMs, when replying to any message one is told to decrease to 1500 the total number of characters or it will not send?? it will but it comes straight back with the message and the character counter until enough of the short overall message has been deleted then it gets sent.

    cheers fnq

    Re: PM character limit

Sorry, my mistake, it is set to 10000, not 50000. Not sure why you get that message of 1500, will look further.

later versions of vbulletin do allow separate PM messaging options . always wondered why you never upgrade? ver 3.8.2 is quite significant changes.

This version has seperate PM options.

I have heavily moded this version so it is not an easy thing to do an upgrade. Pretty easy to upgrade a standard version as the software does it all for you.

yes, i thought it might be all the mods that are holding you back from the latest version.
