gold coast flatties and tailor in the broadwater today

Hit the broadwater today in the water by 6am,the water looked a little dirty first up but cleaned up by 830,fished the banks around the southern end of south straddie with some sp's.using berkly4" watermellon minows on 1/8" jig heads. there was heaps of whitebait around and tonnes of birds getting a feed out of them down. i saw one massive surface bust up so quickly flicked a shiny metal lure into the mass of taylor and managed to pull out three. fished till around twelve and managed to catch about 8 flatties. biggest going about 45cm.av size 38-40.i kept two of the biggest and relesed the rest also kept two tailor.so appart from a massive wind knot early on in the day resulting in me having to fit my spare spool and getting spiked from the gill of the largest fo the flatties trying to escape it was a great day.cant wait to get out there with my new sounder and do it all over again.

Nice work ellis_d. Always pays to have yourself a glove handy for handling most fish.

    Cheers,
