Team,
I am lookling for help with my ARB Air Compressor. I didn't get around to fitting it to my DX, and have now bought a 80 series factory TD GXL so want to fit the compressor.
I have had a look under the bonnet, but the only place I can see to fit it is obscured with metal brake lines (on the rear side of the front wheel arch near the fire wall on Driver's side).
Can someone please help me out by posting a photo of their air compressor under bonnet location on their 80 series?
Any pictures would be appreciated as I am at a bit of a loss with this one.

Shano has one that ARB mounted under the drivers seat. I thought it was a little bit of a tight fit and I didn't like the idea of it mounted on top of the carpet but the boys at ARB said thats where they put most of them in the 80 series cruisers and they have had no problems...

Team - I would be keen to steer clear of the rear storage bins as they are hard to get open when you have rear draws in.
I did consider putting it under the driver's seat, but there is something under there (some electrical componentry covered by a metal cover - very technical . There was a gap under the drivers seat in my DX but the space is full in the GXL. I guess I could put it under the passenger front seat, but there is a 10 stacker CD cartridge already under there
I didn't think there would be any space under the rear seat? I think my options are shaping up to be under the bonnet (if I can find somewhere that fits ok) or in the rear cargo area ( not really a fan of this one).
Any suggestions and pictures of mounting location is appreciated.

Sure the thing under the driver's seat isn't an old analogue phone base or something like that?
It's gotta be either that or an amp for the stereo cause I'm pretty sure there was nothing from the factory under there - mine didn't anyway....................
Only '80 I put a compressor under the bonnet had a 1hz. It was the old style compressor for lockers and had the tyre inflation option. We found a spot behind the LHS battery enclosure and bent up some plate to suit. I'd never do it again if I had ther choice - keep it inside or keep it portable as others have said.

yep as brandon said mine is under the drivers seat! im also sure there is nothing factory under the seat! i have a 97 model 80 series 40th annerversary model! and there was nothing! if you mount it i the cabin they will last longer! they do get hot but they say it aint gonna cause problems!

I have discovered that the component under the driver seat is the fan / blower for the air vents in the back seat. This air comes out through vents at the back of the centre console.
