    Saros - Stradic?

Hi all, just wondering which reel you guys suggest for Breaming and light Squire work. Will be spooling with 10lb and 4lb. I was thinking Saros to be honest. What are your opinions. Has anyone had any bad experiences with the Saros or the Stradic. In the 2500 Size that is.

    Hi Tom,

I have used (and own) both reels in the 2500 size... I much rather the Stradic but its all personal opinion, you will find people who prefer one to the other.

If I was you I would get the Stradic (I might even go get a 1000 now...).

If you are looking at the stradic I would go to the 3000 as it is the same reel as the 2500 with a slightly deeper spool

Thanks Horse, do they both weigh the same? Just that 3000 sounds a bit overkill for most Breaming and Squire situations. Might need it in the Bay though.

    Re: Saros - Stradic?

Horse is right, the Stradic 3000 is a deeper spool. Yes, same weight... I know it sounds like overkill but really, its not.

I use Stradics, Sustains, Twinpowers and Fireblood in 1000's, 2500's and 3000's... For Bream I like to stick with the 1000's because I like to fish AS LIGHT as possible.

If your looking for a reel that you can use in afew more situations go with the 3000, same as a 2500 just deeper spool.

Tom, let me know what reel you want if you like and I can look after you on price as I sell alot of reels here in australia.

    Hope I can help mate,
    Bandit.

    Re: Saros - Stradic?

Tom, I have a 2500 Saros and use 4lb braid on it.

Caught many fish that have taken drag (not bream) and the drag's extremeeeeely smooth.

My mate uses a 3000 Stradic and he does not like it as much as his V-systems. I also have the said V-system but I prefer using the Saros ... if that makes sense ...

If it is mainly for luring/breaming, 2500 is a good size/weight.

Unfortunately, not many people have this reel so you won't get too many reviews on it. However, get it and you will be more than impressed.
