    i went to wellington point for the first time to day caught alot of just under size squire just wanted to no if any one catches the bigger nobbies out there i was fishing near a channel to the left of the wellington point boat ramp near the red marker all by it self. tryed other places but they only seem to be in that one spot

    mate the biggest i have got there is bout 46cm.....but have never really caught alot there anyway...normally just get a few moses perch there and grassies....hope this helps

    I know a member on this site has caught them to 70cm in the shallows.

    Hey Gavinc400,

    Don't despair mate. There is a lot of water around that place that does hide some nice fish. Persevere mate because the rewards are there. Try different baits, tides, moon phases. If you have a sounder do some exploring and see what you can find. If you are fishing 'gentlemans hours' then you likelihood of catching that whopper is certainly reduced.

    Use peak fishing times to your advantage. i.e. dawn/dusk. You will note where the action is as when they are on the area can be a bit like Queens St on a Saturday morning.

    yeah i was out there at 430 am and every bait i put down i brought up a fish was using softies to start but no touch then just change to bait the amount of squire that was there was unreal so thats y i though there must be a couple of big ones getting around
