Would also be keen to get any good info on fishing the Scarby reefs of late.

While it's still hit & miss with the wind to go too far from the ramp (curtin reef etc), would love nothing more than to target a few snapper in the relatively safe waters close to shore.

I only know of one 50+cm snapp coming off the reef over the past week and maybe half a dozen undersized ones have been mentioned between about 12 reports. Things are not firing as they should along the Peninsula for some reason.

Even Mud Island is not producing its normal fare for this time of the year yet. My bet is after the next full moon will turn things around.

I was off scarbough reef on Friday and only got a few undersized squire. There were half a dozen other boats out there and no one seemed to be doing any better. Im not sure but maybe the water temp is still a little to warm( it was about 22 degrees.

the winds are starting to favour the western quarter, so that should mean that the water will clear up, drop in temperature and bring on the snaps. Also make the close reefs easier to fish....but take ya winter woolies with ya...its starting to get cold at night.
