    G.Loomis exits the blank market

For those of you who liked to roll your own rods with G.Loomis blanks. At the end of 2009 Loomis will no longer sell blanks anymore. I can hear the custom rod industry screaming now..... And Samurai smiling from ear to ear

thats a reel shame as loomis do a better job of their blank manufacture than they do of their rods.

Lets see how long it lasts though before the parent ( Shimano) realise the losses

they make some damn good blanks...but have always a been a bit over priced for my liking....would prefer Samauri equivalents. Frogleys will be laughing all the way to the bank.

With the world the way it is, I can see why they would need to cut back... that doesnt make it any easier to swollow... but oh well. They make great blanks and yes they are overpriced, but in the end you get what you pay for.

Rod builders who cant live without Loomis blanks (I know afew on here), stock up!
