It wasn't quite that bad "Hat" but it was tough - 130 odd anglers weighed in 82 bass but I supose a few of those guys would have upgraded several times. Don't let those results put you off though, it often happens when you get 75 bass boats racing around for 3 days, each with 2 powerful sounders pinging away. Then you can add the public hol crowd, Kirkleagh was full and they were turning away campers without a booking. Some mates of mine fished Somerset for 2 days in the middle of last week before the crowds arrived and did ok on blades near Pelican Point, they got 200 red claw as well!!!!!
In the ABT comp blades and fly did the best, around Pelican Point and just up past the start of the timber. I saw some trollers not in the comp going ok with med diving hard bodies.
Also worth noting was the capture of 2 Mary River Cod about 20lb and 2 saratoga, but more about that in the june BnB
Gotcha Mike never trust a camp kitchen!!!
Cheers Nath
Soooo, who wants to do a Red Claw run then?
Any word on camp site costs and are we all Daryl again this year when booking??
Cheers,
Steve
The discount is available if the group numbers 20+ and arrive on the same day.
i.e. at least 20 have to be there per night to get the discount on the night.
