Re: SOMERSET SESSION Midyear Muster 25th July

Well I guess I should put my hand up......I thought some would catch scattered Bass at the Session....Just a bit surprised that they are schooling at this time.....Sh-t how good was it to be wrong.......Well done all..... I too am happy as a dog with two d-cks but I don't think you can say that on here....so I better say Tails.....next Monday sounds like as good a time as any to return and have another crack at em
    Good Mates....Good Food.....Good Fishing....Priceless

Daryl are you saying you basically used the one lure for 6 days without losing it, and yet you managed to hang on to the one I lent you for 30 seconds?
    Only kidding Daryl

Those schools will get a bit of a rest from the tournament anglers as the Somerset ABT 2 week prefishing starts Sunday arvo.

Whitto, no one could have predicted the great result we had. I have to admit I had fingers etc. crossed. pity it was really Monday before we got the hot bite And yes I expect at least a swag over this week . Fish, Kilcoy Pub Dinner, sleep, Fish.
Or fish & beer followed by camp oven stew and beer then swag, possibly followed by; fish & beer followed by camp oven stew and beer then swag

Nip these things are soft remember, i expect the jack will like 'em but may wreck 'em. But if they are priced as recommended at $15 for two then WTF.

Chris, IMHO the Session was nearly as good as it gets ( except for the absence of some regulars, notably the louts from Gin Gin). I am not a fan of too big and our humble crew of Musterers is just great.

Mike I suspect something was knot right there, but is was hit by something big. Then I managed to give Matt Frazers new mf 60 a work out and landed a stonker; was relived to able to return the lure . Not that I wanted to to but he seemed keen to have it back and I couldn't see me and Deano out running him in my tinny .

Thanks to all for a great week!

well done Daryl's. we sure know how to have a good time!!!
I dropped into the local U-Brewit facilty on Saturday arvo....mmm lots of lovely lovely beer to sample.....and only 1 liver....oh well.
    I Sampled a Canadian Lager.....not bad
    I sampled a Chinese Lager.....allright..
    I sampled a Japanese super Dry......noice!
I got another Kennykiller to take home and try later....but it takes 5 weeks to mature so won't be ready in time for the muster....the Jap super dry was quite a good refreshing drop.....but thats my tastes....Pilseners and Pale Ales are my thing.

Thanks for the Red Claw reports................we bombed out !!

Saw all the Bass Pro guys Sunday morning when the fog finally lifted.
Looks like they found the Bass schooled up , 10 min run to the South of Kirkleigh (maybe only 2 min in one of their Yank style drag boats).

Will try again when things warm up a little.

    Cheers
    Craigie.

yeah they seem to not be super keen on the cold but i guess they have coped a flogging as well so if the cool slows them up they may get a little break and then recover

Cool Re: SOMERSET SESSION Midyear Muster 25th July

    ROO,

You are correct on the maturity of the Dark Ale I like to leave it for at least 5 weeks and as you can attest it is well worth the wait. It is more of a Winter beer than a summer beer me thinks. Fortunately When I collected the Brew for the session I put down another so I will have the Dark Elixer cans in September . I also have a Kings Larger, a refreshing drop not as heavy as the dark, not unlike Crown Larger

Craigy, They didn't find 'em mate they all new where to go don't worry about that. I had several visits in the week leading up to the comp while I was fishing on the School. I am pleased to report all were good coves and happy to exchange information. I think really any one there who could catch fish could have taken out the comp as the luck of the draw was having your offerring in front of the biggest fish, they were all under water and all in close quarters.

I am down loading the Session pics now 148 of them . I will put up a few soon.

    Bye the way;

Nathan the Tropical trousers Hat took the Medal for the best Bass on the day, Saturday that is and well done as there were bugger all caught at that stage. Deano, whitto and nagg all contenders and well done.

Kimmy allegedly caught the first Bass although there was no photo she had an unbiased witness .

The Bush Candle was a big hit, Nagg was so impressed he nearly embarrassed himself. Here he is sitting on the throne of fire. It is the best Birthday Candle bar none, I couldn't blow it out. Some boof heads nearly manged to kill it by jamming in a can of corn.

The weather was maagnificant, beautiful foggy mornings.

And of course Bob the Bloody Big Bass was a highlight for me

Now if the system works there will be pictures ?
