Also remember you will be up for a permit to put your boat on the water.....I use to pay 75 per year....there use to be a 15 a month fee I imagine this still applies.....and of course your SIP.....for some reason Somerset is the only Impoundment that requires you to pay a fee to put your boat on the water

I recommend you drive.

Straight up by pass the G'Coast onto the Logan motor way, through Gails follow the signs to Toowoomba onto the Warrego Hwy and take the Brisbane Valley turn off to the north, just west of Ipswich. Follow the signs to Somerset. Go through somerset village and continue on north toward Kilcoy. Kirkleigh / Somerset Family park is on your right after you come out of all the windy stuff. Stop before the gate, pay the gate keeper and she will give you a code for the gate. Through the gate and keep left all the way.

i got some pine cones for the fire they should get a bit cranked up and so far i have got clearance from the homew chief tio leave thursday afternoon but need to talk to the work chief and see if he can let me loose early

I'm solo - as I'm flying back from Sydney on the Thursday night & heading straight there ( hopefully)
I said to Steve not to bring his boat & he can fish with me .

I spoke to Jungle Jim this morning, fished Somerset on Sunday........don't ask........and he told me that if you buy anything from the kiosk, other than your permits, it is all cash no eftpos.

If we get desperate, My brother in law has padocks of iron bark ready to go. He lives at Kilcoy. I can arrange a box trailer full. Just let me know ASAP, so he can sort it out and I can pick it up on the way thru.

Bloody hope so Prinny, said he could see a distinct thermocline at 20 feet with scattered fish below, Bay 13 area, not interested in any offerings, hopped spinnerbaits down the rock walls on the other side, nothing, saw 3 other boats all day.
