    Deano thank god your here!
I was starting to think I was the only one with any sense here and that is scary.

So got a few more lollies during the week, and have ordered blades from a few sources stevedaviesfishing has some interesting jig/blade thingies so I needed them, (well I didn't have any); and LuresDirect, strikebacktackle and
    off course Jackies Havock.
Yes I am doing my bit to stimulate the economy!
If the KRudd gave me more of my money back I could do more!

Anyway I have to pack some of this stuff. I am off to somerset dam tomorrow for three days! If anyone is interested.

"Princess" You get a cold wind up the skirt this morning?

Hey I dont know about this head chef thing I know a certain fella who loves his oven cooking more then anyone Mr Nipsta is his alias.

A taste test on the red claw is going to be good and I am happy to wack some in the oven for a bit of garlic sause to soak in.... And yes Princess you can have your snags and stuff. Must look into a recipe or two for the red claw?

Go hard Daryl hope you get a few mate!

Red face Re: SOMERSET SESSION Midyear Muster 25th July

Well the weather was to be fine and to be fair it didn't rain till I got the tent up no surprises there.

Fairly poured Friday night, maybe I should move there just so the dam stays full .

There was a bit of wind especially today, and the surface was a little choppy but not bad. Fortunately for the ABT Grande Electric crew the wind was a southerly so blew them home. They had 47 Anglers on the water and the total fish count was 7. One poor Basard caught the biggest at 1.1 but ran out of battery and was towed back by a fuel driven outboard so was disqualified. To his credit he advised the organisers and accepted the disqualification doing himself out of a $1,000 prize.

So the fishing was bloody grim. I tried everything, sliders, spinner baits large and small, stick baits, jackals, blades, squidgies and combinations. I even went to stealth using 2kilo mono, with a 6k flurocarbon leader and a 1/16 jig head; Like fishing with hair. This was only possible in protected bays as otherwise there was no hope of getting down to any depth. You could only get deep using the minn kota against the wind in the basin. I did find schools but all I caught was A Herring! Which was more than most got .

As I said despite plenty of anglers there were very few fish caught.

Some of you were asking about taking bait pots so I took a pic of the little Red claw they have been getting there. Crazy really more like off shore bait.

I camped right on the water as usual, there is still some good sites there as the level has dropped a little now they have opened the gate and drained some water into Wyvenhoe. It certainly is convenient having the boat in the water at the tent. The only draw back was a group of young Ski Fanatics thought the same and had to be reminded when it was bed time . To be fair they did turn it down when asked and in fact asked me to join them.
But I knew i had to get up at about 8 or 9 to go fishing so I had to get my .

Most of the weekend was dry but it was windy.
"Wind is your friend" Bull$hit! Fortunately it started toHammer down rain just before I got home. Just in time to soak everything packed in the boat. Tent etc. Thankfully I could just back the lot into the shed.

    Good Night.

Cheer's mate, looks like a great spot, shame about the fish, surely we will be able to find a few next month.
Do you think the red claw in the photo was about an average size? I am looking forward to getting into a few of those.
