any way, back to the cricket...went shoppin today, got me a strike pro ice jig, a few more little placcies and spinners, bored so went shoppin...also some 6x vmc trebs....sorrry it all ends in barra..so yea a new barra spin reel and some hollowbellies...but all ready for somerset,...think there may be a dash north before the session though...

I know what you mean ..... planning a couple of trips over the next 3 weeks - $$$ & thats without the need to buy tackle .

But yeh ..... all worth it !

I have just returned from Kirkleigh. The dam is FULL like it hasn't been full for more than ten years! Unfortunately that was not only the water but also the park. However not all are as keen as us to go there in the middle of winter .

Mostly good news but it does mean the usual camping spot on the grass on the water at B is now several meters under water . So the camping area is on the dirt and rocks among the trees as seen in one of my previous posts. There are other areas but this is the only spot we can leave the boats in if that matters. There is another area opposite 'E' on the map that is high and dry but on the grass.

What are you thoughts?

It will be great either way.

Steve has also been out on the weekend and B is now just the rocky area on the top so I might see if I can 'book' a space as above opposite E. Although not marked camping on the map, opposite E (BBQ on map) is a nice open grassy spot. I was waiting to see if they opened the tap to Wyvenhoe and dropped the dam to expose the 'B' bank but that won't happen now. The only thing is E is not on the water although only a couple hundred meters away. And it is a little warmer as you are not beside the water down the bank. I hope to be out there Wed or Thursday so as to set up camp.

Nothin to flash poiter, ran out of coin, 3000 series shim symetre...should do the job and bout 100 bucks cheeper than the diawa i was lookin at...so that 100 went on braid and lollies...

$9 per person per night.

We will camp at E due to B Bing under water it will be more comfortable possibly less freezing and saves stumbling over gibbers and sticks on the hill.
