Mike I remember in the day of the many Kirkleagh Klassics I use to attend, a lecture was given by a well known Author/Angler who will remain nameless, during his Cod lecture he claimed there is proberbly a Cod on every point at Somerset, he also had an example of the type of rod reel and lure you would need, personally I thought it was gear you would use for Shark fishing.......Having said all that I have been bricked a couple of times in Somerset over the years and I now know why.....Beautiful Fish indeed......Thanks for the Piccies.
    Good Mates....Good Food.....Good Fishing....Priceless

Mike Thanks for some news on Somerset It makes it interesting to to see that big fat mother dragged up. That would be interesting on the bass gear.

Re: SOMERSET SESSION Midyear Muster 25th July

The dedicated guys and gals from the Somerset Wivenhoe Fish Stocking Assoc have released 40,000 Mary River Cod into Somerset over the years. Also in the June issue of Bushn'Beach there's a couple of better pics of other 2 cod that were caught and released at Somerset lately, including a beautifully coloured little cod on the front cover.
We're starting to get a few toga up there as well, as long as everyone keeps releasing them Somerset should turn into a damm fine toga fishery.
    Cheers

    Thanks Mike,

I have been thinking about a fund raiser for the stocking fraternity for the Somerset Session.

What if we all wear stockings and fine anyone who doesn't?

    or

We each chuck a bass lure / spinner bait in a basket and raffle it. Say a ticket each at $5.
Winner takes the lot or we have a couple of draws depending on numbers and proceeds go to the Stocking Club?

A bit of fun and help the stocking Association?

    Bump.

It is much cooler here than Weipa. Still it is good to be able to walk the banks without looking out for crocs.
