Tony, shame you will be a no show. Trust everything is OK. Won't be the shame without the bling.
Re looking after the birthday boy, well just went through myold port selection and have dug out a bottle that is half your age, so we will have to have a quiet slurp on that one. Hope it is a good as the bottles we emptied at Borumba.
Cheers
Steve
This trip just keeps sounding better and it looks like I might have a mate coming as well.
All I want is to catch MORE legal fish!
All is fine here, just have too much other stuff that's come up. (I know - boring)
It's a bummer as I pretty much was packed ready last week! Bling, Blankets, and Bottles included I even bought a new tent that's like the Hilton after the 2 second job, and a fresh pair of uggies!
And yes I am hoping to sneak a Teflon or 2 to Mondy before the muster, although not this weekend.
Real Daryl - I'll have a Port on Saturday in your honour - bummer it won't be round the fire, but I'm sure we'll make up for that sometime soon!
And Missus Daryl - you're welcome on board the Pearl anytime, plenty of room for Rocky Road too!
Cheers
Chatty Daryl (God knows where he got that from)
Good Mates....Good Food.....Good Fishing....Priceless
Am I on the right track? We've only been to Somerset once before and this was the way we got there. If I remember correctly it was a good road with only 1 Kangaroo encounter!! It went straight under the Subaru and got up and hopped away, not totally unscathed. Dunno how it will be towing a boat tho'. Or should I stick to the main Brisbane valley Highway up to Esk?
Cheers Roo
Yep - that's the way I would go Roo......
I was thinking the freeway to Cabolture then turn off, gotta be a better road and may need some supplies on the way through Kilcoy.
Pete.
From my place (Redlands) it is about the same travel time either way.
Roads are better via Caboolture but you have to contend with the Gateway traffic and many roadworks.....

I think the way logan motorway, ipswich motorway to blacksoil, turn off to fernvale then follow signs to esk. There is a little short cut from memory that goes up through splityard creek (dam) and brings you out just south of somerset town. have a look at google maps or something. I only remember it from my days traveling to school Kilcoy to Ipswich....yes one bevan town to another!
