I've actually changed my thoughts about redclaw.
After years of catching them in North Pine Dam, cooking them in salt water and getting nothing but a bland taste, a nothing taste and then cooking them with a marinade of sweet chilli, garlic and sauces which made them a whole lot better on the taste buds. But still i thought they were to much trouble for what you got.
Then last year i was given some claw that were caught in Faust, cooked in salt water only and what a difference, hard to imagine that the difference could be so massive.
From eating the bland tasting NPD claw to the Faust, well all i can say is that the Faust claw tasted just like ocean king prawns salt water cooked, bloody beautiful.

Just got back from Somerset, fishing was tough but those that caught bass did land some nice ones. I got a 2.1kg off the edge on a white Smack spinnerbait and a few guys (and gals) landed bigger than that out of schools at Palican Point (LM blades), but like I said it was tough. I think the biggest bass went 2.6kg & best bag was 2 for 3.7kg. The dam has risen 2mts and dropped 2mts all in a couple of weeks and the fish never like that, should have settled down by muster time.
I also snagged this opera house trap with it's lonely prisoner, not a bad size either. I put it back where I found it but I noticed it's owner was using slices of lemon for bait.

no im going out there with kaitlyn and me to have a little trip not sure if my backis up too a barra trip and that way if it gives way again im not far from home at least i was going to but decide when my back play up 3 weeks ago after 2 trips to bribie and a week off on and off gerni ing of my drive got the better of me bye the monday i couldnt walk so three weeks i have been taking it easyNot heading to Mondy Simon ?
