    South Moreton Bay - Friday

Headed out around lunchtime from Vic Pt east toward south stradbroke. Went looking for a sinkhole I saw on some map south of Peel Is but couldnt find it on the GPS... Anyway we anchored up for a bit and hit on a heap of small Bronze Whalers... Caught about 10 of those, kept a few and got sick of them so moved up toward west side of peel. Nothing there so back to Banana banks for some drifitng...

Caught that awful sea toad in another thread, caught a flounder on the soft plastics, hit onto something heavy but lost it not long after....

Then headed further south to east coochie... Hooked a couple undersize squire and a small toad fish....

But interestingly, the frozen bait (squid/prawns etc) definitely outperformed the plastics today... I only got 2 fish on plastics, and about two dozen on the bait...

Was good fun catching the bronze's though... A couple bits of flake for the uncle to cook up

Those little bronzies go alright on the chew but they are a pain in the arse to skin. sounds like a good day out.

Plastics Interesting to see you BaitThrower have a go at plastics even though you got more hits on bait. One day you will stay with it and get more of the hits are larger fish instead of those bait pickers with your good presintations on the bottom. Hey is it worth drifting over the Banana Banks or is it an old hot spot. I have been told of it being a good spot or was that only from the old days. Cheers.

I think it depends on the day mate. We didnt really catch any keepers on the banks on Friday. Caught a few soldier fish? (not sure but they have back halfs like whiting, but a wider head with a wide mouth full of nasty sharp little teeth!)

It would be worth a drift or two I reckon to see if anything decent is around.
