seascape boats

Any one give me the lowdown of seascape boats.Is there any negative feedback.

Well the boats are a pressed range made by TABS... who are under voluntary administration (see other threads). They are often promoted as plate boats but are not by any accepted definition of plate.. but look really good all the same. Pity the manufacturer has gone under. That doesnt mean that a Seascape would be a bad idea...!...just that you would pay COD and not risk a deposit if it is a new boat you are considering....most coys that are under voluntary administration fail to trade out of their problems and move on to receivership and liquidation... dont know what stage TABS are at....so ask all those questions and take care with your money.

Seascape is under Voluntary administration. This does not mean we have gone under. For further info please call 07 55946333 or talk to any of our dealers for accurate information Voluntary administration is a broad umbrella term that covers many different areas. It should also be noted that we don’t hold your deposit the dealer does. The 6 m Gridlock system in the 6 m Seascape is lot closer to plate than you think. While the bottom is pressed it also carries fully a welded north south stringer system. Best of both worlds dry ride through trimming of a pressed boat and the inherent strength of 5mm stringer system. They are more of a custom build than the usual fast production vessel available everywhere. They do represent huge value. Regards DeanWilson

TABS/Seascape are now trading fine. the have come back. i have just purchased a Seascape 482 Kingfisher. Dean gave me a tour of the factory on the Gold coast. impressive display.

A mate has a 482 and has just finished his first season in the boat. He drives it hard..He is very happy with the boat and just as pleased with the build quality..

Daisy Burnett just brought a Tabs through the Melbourne dealership and is pleased with a smooth purchase.

I wouldnt go near any mob under recievership voluntary or otherwise , just my opinion but even with a limited audience a few fullas on here have been burnt with businesses failing....so I would run.........away...............fast. Never been in a Seascape but not a fan of TABS boats harder riding then JBS and that is saying something . Opinions voiced here of course are only my own so please dont bore it up me too much

Mate as long as you are careful with your finances etc and they are a good product, there is no reason why we shouldn't support them and maybe just help them get further out of trouble, I run a small business myself and it is bloody tough, I'd like to give my money to a company that is going to bust their balls to get a good product out the door and who needs good PR far more than a cashed up company.

I wish them the best in trading out of it and running profitably again.

You actually purchase through a dealer. So in theory your contract is with the dealer not the builder. You only pay a small deposit and no progress payments until pickup. Tabs and seascape are great boats. Very affordable.

This thread has just about the lot...Someone who is interested in buying a local boat...The builder saying that things are going well enough and showing that he is makeing an effort and offering a way out for buyers risking big deposits..The next move would be for Dean to explain exactly how much of a deposit is needed for the dealer to hold and what happens with that if there was a collapse of the builder. I presume that the dealer would refund the money in total and so no depositers funds are at risk at all which is where the whole industry should be moveing.

That way we would not have to concern ourselves with these terrible stories of people doing their money to such bad business arrangements/people. We would only need to discuss the merits of particular designs and building methods etc.......Which would be enough to keep Ausfish going for some time yet..:smiley:
