    Do spanish take skirted lures?

Or is it best to chase them with Halco's / dead baits..

    cheers

Yes they do take skirts but imho halcos and dead bait work better but these all second rate compared to trolled or floated live baits, trolled if you want to work an area or floated under a ballon if you know where the fish are holding and the bigger the bait the better!
Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!

Yes, hexheads at speed, or resins at slower speeds.
Live bonnies or mack tuna are best choice for big spaniards.
Slow troll a slimey... or use a downrigger if you have one.
    Good luck.

Totally agree with post #2. They will most certainly hit skirted lures but be prepared for them to get damaged far quicker than hard bodies and once they're missing a few strings they don't seem to swim as well so it can be costly. Hard bodies work better anyway imo.
"holy sh!t, did you see that?"

I totally agree, nothing is a substitute for live bait, used to slow troll live bait very often...it's scary productive. Really should start at it again.

Thats where a Tuna tube and downrigger should be a sweet combo. I'm just waiting for the swell to drop to get out and try it

hi mate they will takes skirted lures, but i have only every trolled livies and dead baits with awesome success and hundreds of spaniards under my belt now, never had the need to troll lures to get them, a more natural bait is the way to go.

    cheers justin
